How do I use it on a server I already have?

Press “Use this template” and pick “On a server you already have”. Discord asks which server, then Xenon lists every channel and role it would add or delete and waits there. It works whether or not Xenon is in the server yet.

Can I start a new server from it instead?

“On a new server” hands you to Discord’s own create-a-server flow. Starting a server that way needs no bot and no account here.

Can I apply it with a command?

Yes, once Xenon is in the server. Run /template load name_or_id: WYF4U5Jw8aRq to apply it. The result is the same, but the website shows you every change before anything happens.

Template commands

Should I back the server up first?

Yes, on any server that already has something in it. Run /backup create before you apply it. A template replaces channels and roles, and the backup is your way back.

How backups work

What happens to the channels and roles already there?

By default, the ones this template doesn't have are deleted. The website names every one of them before you confirm. With the command, add !delete-channels or !delete-roles to keep them.

Will I lose my members or messages?

Members stay. A template never kicks anyone, though they lose any role it deletes. Messages live in their channel, so a channel this template doesn't have takes its messages with it. A backup taken first can restore those channels, and with Premium their messages too.

Can I change it after applying it?

Yes. Once it's applied, rename, add, and delete whatever you like in Discord.

What doesn't a template carry?

Messages, members, emojis, stickers, AutoMod rules, scheduled events, and onboarding. A template carries only the structure, meaning categories, channels, roles, their order, their permission overwrites, and a few server settings.

Why does Discord ask for Administrator?

A template creates and deletes roles and channels, and Discord lets a role manage only the roles below its own. Discord also adds Xenon’s role at the bottom of the list, so you may have to move it up before it can change the roles above it.

Do I need an account to use it?

No. You can read the whole layout and copy the template code without logging in. Applying it to a server you already have only asks you to approve Xenon on Discord.

Does it cost anything?

No. Using templates is free and always has been. Premium adds message history inside backups, more automatic backups, and cross-server sync. None of that changes how templates work.
