Refund Policy

Last updated

This policy covers what You buy through the Service. Paddle is the Merchant of Record for every purchase made through the Service, so Paddle is Your counterparty for the sale and Paddle’s buyer terms govern it. Refunds are issued by Paddle on Our instruction.

Definitions

  • Company (also “We”, “Us” or “Our”) refers to Merlin Fuchs, Alte Str. 5, 04229 Leipzig, Germany.
  • Subscription means a recurring plan or add-on purchased through the Service that grants access to paid features for a billing period.
  • Renewal means a payment that continues a Subscription You already hold into a further billing period, as opposed to the payment that started it.
  • Service refers to xenon.bot and the Discord bots operated by the Company, including any earlier version of Xenon still in operation.
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service.

Refunds We Offer

This is what We offer of Our own accord, wherever You are. Each is at Our discretion, and We ask for a short reason before We issue one.

A first payment, on request made within 24 hours of the charge. A first payment is the payment that starts a Subscription; adding an add-on to a plan You already hold is a first payment for that add-on.

A monthly Renewal, on request made within three days of the charge.

A yearly Renewal, on request made within seven days of the charge. After that, where You are a consumer, You can still end a renewed Subscription with one month’s notice and We refund the part of the renewed period You have not received, as the Terms of Service say.

A paid feature We removed. Where We withdraw a feature and You bought the plan or add-on specifically for it, We refund the part of the period You have paid for and not received.

Paddle sends a reminder before a yearly Renewal, and canceling before the renewal date stops a Renewal. Removing an add-on or moving to a smaller plan takes effect at the end of the billing period You have already paid for and does not refund the remainder of it.

Your Statutory Rights

Paddle, as the seller, gives You the statutory right of withdrawal where You hold one as a consumer, and the instruction for it at checkout. A statutory right takes precedence over the refunds We offer above, and nothing in this policy limits a statutory right You hold against Paddle or Us.

Paid features can also reach a workspace through a third party We integrate with, such as a Patreon membership or a purchase made inside Discord, or through an access grant We applied Ourselves. In the first case Your payment went to that third party, their terms govern it, and there is nothing here for Us to refund. In the second there was nothing to pay.

When We Do Not Refund

Beyond a statutory right, We do not refund:

  • Where Your access to paid features was withdrawn because You breached Our Terms of Service.
  • Where there is evidence of fraud, of refund abuse, or of a pattern of purchases made in order to be refunded.
  • Where a chargeback or payment dispute has already been opened for the same payment. Withdraw it and contact Us instead.
  • Where the payment falls outside the windows set out above, other than at Our discretion.

How to Request a Refund

Email billing@xenon.bot. Name the email address the Subscription was bought with at checkout, which is the address Your receipt was sent to and the one Paddle holds the payment under. Tell Us which payment You mean and, where a reason is needed, what went wrong.

Refunds go to the means of payment You used for the purchase. Access to the paid features ends when the refund is issued.

Canceling a Subscription

You can cancel a Subscription at any time from the billing page of Your workspace, or through the link in the receipt email Paddle sent You. If neither works, write to billing@xenon.bot and We cancel it for You.

Canceling stops future Renewals; access to paid features remains until the end of the billing period You already paid for. Cancellation on its own does not trigger a refund, other than the refund a consumer is owed for a renewed period under the Terms of Service, described above.

Changes to this Policy

We may update this policy. Changes are published on this page, with the date at the top updated.
