Role Creation Cooldown

Why a load stops partway through
Section titled “Why a load stops partway through”Discord allows 250 roles to be created per server every 48 hours. The limit is Discord’s, it applies to every bot, and we cannot lift or raise it for you.
What it counts is role creations, not roles the server currently has. Loading the same backup twice spends the quota twice, so it is repeated loads rather than one large server that usually exhausts it. A server with 50 roles gets about five loads in a 48 hour window.
What you can do
Section titled “What you can do”Wait. The window is rolling, so the quota comes back gradually rather than all at once, and a load that stopped will get further the next time you run it.
Or load without touching roles. If you only need the channel layout, skip role creation entirely and the limit never applies:
/backup load backup_id: [BACKUP-ID-HERE] options: !delete-roles !rolesYour existing roles and everyone’s assignments are left exactly as they are. This is usually what you want on a server that already has members.
A note on channels
Section titled “A note on channels”Channel creation has no 48 hour cooldown. Discord caps a server at 500 channels in total, which is a ceiling on the server rather than a limit on how fast a bot may work, so a load that fits inside it will not stop the way a role-heavy one can.
