Most sites ranking for “Discord templates” do not have any. They have a generator that prints a list of channel names, or a builder that invents a structure for you. Here is what separates the three, what each one wants from you first, and the case for this gallery made narrowly rather than loudly.

The word covers a catalog, a text generator and an AI builder, and the difference decides whether you get a working server or a list of homework.
A catalog of real servers somebody built, ran, and published as a Discord template. You pick one and it is applied: every channel, every category, the role list, the role order and the permission overwrites, exactly as they were on the server it came from. This gallery is one. discordtemplates.me is the other, and it publishes about 5,000 of them.
A form that prints text. Gatecord’s server template page takes a name and a category, produces a channel and role list, and tells you what to do with it: “Copy and create the channels & roles below for your Discord server.” Nothing is applied to anything and no Discord template is produced. It is a to-do list for an evening of clicking.
Software that constructs a structure rather than reproducing one. BuildMyDiscord publishes 15 house layouts and an AI builder that writes a server from a description, on paid Pro and Ultra plans. VibeBot describes 14 layouts by server type and offers to spin the chosen one up. Both are real products and neither is a catalog: the structures come from the vendor, not from a community that used them.
Every listing here is a Discord template of a server that existed, submitted by the person who ran it, with the structure it actually used. The detail page renders the whole thing before you load anything: the categories in order, every channel under them, and the role list top down the way Discord shows it.
What a gallery cannot do is invent something for you. If you want a structure written to your description rather than borrowed from a server that used it, an AI builder does a thing this page does not, and no amount of catalog makes up for it.
Worth checking before you browse, because it is the step nobody advertises and it is where the two real galleries differ most.
On discordtemplates.me, choosing a template opens a dialog rather than a template: “Before you can use the server template, please login to our website.” Getting the layout means signing in to a third-party site with your Discord account first, on a page whose entire content is otherwise public.
BuildMyDiscord’s AI builder is a paid feature, sold on Pro and Ultra tiers with a monthly credit allowance. The generated layouts are the product, so the good ones sit behind the plan, which is a reasonable way to sell software and worth knowing before you start.
Here the template code is printed on the detail page, in the open, next to the structure it produces. You can read the whole layout without an account, copy the code without one, and load it with a bot you add the way you add any bot. There is no sign-in between a search result and the thing it promised.

The gallery figure is measured from the same API the listing paginates on rather than written into the copy, and rounded down, so it is a floor rather than a claim.
Discord has published server templates since 2020. They are free, they need no bot, and if you are starting from nothing they may be all you need. There is one limit, and it is the reason this gallery is a bot rather than a list of links.
A Discord template link creates a server. It cannot be applied to one that already exists, so it is no help to a community with members in it, a history, and a layout that has stopped working. That is most of the people who go looking for a template.
The native flow takes the whole template. Xenon takes arguments: load the roles and leave the channels, keep the existing channels rather than replacing them, skip the settings. /template load name_or_id: code options: !channels is a real command, and it is what makes a template usable on a server that has things worth keeping.
Loading a template replaces the channels and roles it touches, which is a large change to make on a live community. Run /backup create first and it is undoable. That sequence is the actual argument for using a bot for this, and it is on every detail page in the gallery as step two of three.
Nothing about the template changes. Xenon is what lets you apply one somewhere other than an empty server, and undo it if the result is not what the screenshot suggested.
A gallery that publishes whatever is submitted fills up with servers advertising themselves, listings whose description is a Discord handle, and layouts that are one channel called general. Submissions here are reviewed automatically before they go live, a moderator can take anything down, and a listing that has been refused stays refused rather than being re-judged after an edit.
The cost is real and worth stating: a reviewed catalog is smaller than an unreviewed one, and listings that would have passed elsewhere are not here. That is the trade, and it is the one we would make again, because the failure it prevents is a reader loading a layout that turns out to be an advert.

Every detail page renders the categories in order, the channels under each one and the full role list, top down the way Discord shows them. Our direct competitor’s detail pages run about 155 words under a heading that reads, on every one of them, “Template”.
Each listing names the person who built the server and links to everything else they have published. A template is somebody’s work and the page says whose.
Eight tags and eight verticals, so a search for a Minecraft server or a FiveM roleplay layout lands on the subset rather than on the whole catalog sorted by popularity.
The one thing Discord’s own template feature cannot do, and the reason a community with members and history can use any of this at all.
Take a backup, load the template, and if the layout is wrong the old one comes back. Nothing else in this category offers a way back.
Loading a template needs no account on this site, no plan and no credits. Premium exists and buys message history in backups, which has nothing to do with templates.

If no published server matches what you are imagining, a catalog cannot help and an AI builder can. BuildMyDiscord writes a structure from a description on its paid tiers. That is a genuinely different product and we do not have one.
Discord’s own template feature creates a new server from a template link, free, with no bot involved. If that is your whole requirement, use it. The gallery is still worth browsing for the layout, but you do not need us to apply it.

Loading templates is free and always has been. Premium buys message history and member data inside backups, more automatic backups and cross-server sync, none of which affects templates.
What Premium addsSubmissions are reviewed before they appear, and listings that are adverts for a server, that describe nothing, or that are a single empty channel do not pass. That makes this catalog smaller than one which publishes everything submitted, which is the trade we chose.
By default the channels and roles a template defines replace what is there. You can narrow that: /template load name_or_id: code options: !channels loads the roles and leaves your channels alone. Take a backup first either way and the whole thing is reversible.
