Sub-processors

Last updated

This page lists the Sub-processors the Company engages for Discord Data under the Data Processing Addendum, of which it forms part. A Sub-processor is a provider that processes Discord Data on the Company’s instruction; providers that receive no Discord Data are listed in the Privacy Policy instead.

Current Sub-processors

Sub-processorWhat it doesWhere it processes
netcup GmbH, GermanyThe servers the Service runs on and the databases that hold Discord Data.Germany
Hetzner Online GmbH, GermanyThe object storage that holds backups, chatlogs and attachments, the replica copies of them, and the Company’s encrypted infrastructure backups.Germany and Finland
Better Stack, United StatesApplication logs, metrics and uptime monitoring. Logs identify the operation being logged, so they routinely contain Discord user IDs and Server IDs, and are not meant to carry message content.Stored in their European region. Better Stack engages sub-processors of its own outside the European Economic Area, so some of that processing happens there under an adequacy decision or the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Changes to this list

The DPA sets out when a change is announced: with the feature, where a new Sub-processor serves a feature You have not used yet; at least 14 days ahead, where one replaces or joins a Sub-processor that already processes Discord Data for You; and afterwards, where a change was needed without delay to keep the Service secure or available. Announcements appear in the Service and on this page, with the date the change takes effect.

You may object to a new Sub-processor on reasonable data protection grounds by writing to dpa@xenon.bot.
